Writing the Verse That Earns the Chorus

A chorus is only as powerful as the verse that precedes it. The verse is the earn — it is where you build the emotional case for the chorus. A chorus that arrives without earning is just words and melody. A chorus that arrives after a verse that has done its work is transcendence.
